Overview
The 2312 Series Fast Ethernet Media Converter Modules provide optical transport of 100 Mbps Ethernet signals up to 100 km over singlemode optical fiber and multiple signals using CWDM. Environmentally hardened to perform from -40 to +60° C, operators can now offer an Ethernet handoff anywhere in the outside plant. The unit is designed to be installed like a standard HFC analog node. It can be plant powered using 60/90 VAC or plug powered using 120/240 VAC from a nearby power supply. The THC and THP model media converters are ideally suited for customers without "closet" space for CPE equipment and eliminate the need for expensive environmentally controlled pedestals or housings. This allows for the optical Ethernet Backhaul of next generation, metro, outdoor networking products such as Wi-Fi, RF Radio and Microwave radio systems. The housing is also designed to allow for a second media converter for daisy chaining applications.
